Internet Marketing is a great venue to learn things; actually it is a necessity to catch up with the technology and trend. What you know a couple of months ago will maybe not be applicable today.
A perfect example is what happened last month, the Panda 3.5 and the Penguin updates that Google rolled out. So many website owners were slapped by these updates. This caused their sites dived from great page ranking to the abyss – and they even said and i quote, “…it is as if we lost our jobs”. Not a great month for many, but Google page rank is 10 = 10. Which means, if they fall into the deep search pages, somebody else will take their place.
Oh well, that was history already – everybody moved on now. Some went out of the internet marketing world, some stayed on and continue to learn new things and adapt to changes.
In my case, as an internet marketer and somebody who also owns an SEO company i am always updated on the latest techniques but still, some of my personal sites got affected and a few of my clients’ rankings went down – but luckily 95% of my clients retained their top rankings. I have always been updated with the latest techniques but still, some sites were still hit by the updates – but well, life goes on.
So what is the morale in this story? When there are changes – stop, learn and implement.
